Last week, volunteers and staff at Hidden Treasures in Abbotsford prepared and delivered 20 gift bags to the Warm Zone, an emergency and cold weather drop-in centre for women. The gift bags contained a cosmetic kit of toiletries; hand-knitted scarves, socks, and hats; and a mug with tea and chocolate. This is the third year that Hidden Treasures has donated gift bags to the Warm Zone.

“It is a wonderful thing for us to be involved in,” said Maggie Klassen, Store Manager at Hidden Treasures Abbotsford.

Some volunteers contributed by knitting scarves, socks, and hats, while others donated items for the gift bags. A few of these volunteers help at the Warm Zone, too.

“Paying it forward is what we are all about,” said Maggie. “Thank you to everyone who helped prepare, pack, and deliver the gift bags.”

The Warm Zone is located in Abbotsford, BC, and is operated by SARA For Women, a local non-profit that provides refuge and community resources to women. The organization operates nine sites in Abbotsford and Mission.
